Natalia Latif is a Director at New Heights Communications based in New York City. She brings 10 years of legislative and political communications experience: utilizing strategic thinking, campaign communications, and earned media to push for social and political change. Last year, Natalia served as the Communications Director for the Uncommitted National Movement where she led comms for a historic anti-war campaign. Previously, she worked as a Senior Associate at Fireside Campaigns, where she was the primary lead on a range of clients whose goals were to build power for marginalized communities.
Natalia also taught narrative communications strategy and campaign writing at the Movement School, an affiliate of Justice Democrats. Having also worked on campaign communications for Congressman Jamaal Bowman and former congressional candidate Rana Abdelhamid, she’s no stranger to working with strong progressive leaders. Prior to her time working in communications, she spent four years in the U.S. House of Representatives where she worked on foreign policy, immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-poverty initiatives, housing, health care, and climate policy. She also had to dodge the occasional coup attempt.
Natalia got her first taste of large-scale policymaking while working on electoral policy at the National Democratic Institute and serving as a White House Fellow where she focused on international humanitarian law.
Natalia got her professional start overseas in Islamabad, Pakistan, where she met lifelong friends collaborating on programs to combat gender-based violence and increase access to education, facilitating health care campaigns to fight polio in Pakistan, doing refugee resettlement work, and teaching English. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Biomolecular Science and in International Studies from the University of Michigan.
