The Opportunity
Natalie Davis, the CEO and co-founder of United States of Care, was eager to take her two decades of shaping and implementing American healthcare policies to the main stage. She believed there was a critical conversation missing from the national dialogue around fixing our healthcare system that was lacking a people-centered approach. United States of Care has spent over 5,000 hours listening to more than 30,000 people: a novel approach that doesn’t start by assuming the answer but rather listening to the challenges people face. She wanted to share this adoptable framework for building people-first business models in other industries—from architecture to renewable energy to education.
The Strategy
We started by identifying Natalie’s “peers” in the space, as well as a list of industry experts she admires. From there, we built a robust “awards and stages” tracker that we consistently monitored, drafted applications for, and submitted her to throughout the year, while simultaneously tracking where like-minded thought leaders were getting featured to prioritize those targets. At the same time, we led a podcast outreach strategy that allowed Natalie long-form spaces to socialize her healthcare theory of change and people-first business model with new and diverse audiences. As we built a steady drumbeat of thought leadership across platforms, we started to see higher demand for Natalie’s analysis and perspectives, leading to her becoming a Forbes Council Member with a regular editorial spot.
The Results
We booked Natalie for speaking engagements at at HLTH, thINc360, the Value-Based Healthcare Forum, and the Value-Based Care Summit; got her named in Washingtonian’s DC’s 500 Most Influential People of 2025; booked her for several podcasts including Mavericks in Healthcare, Mommy Labor Nurse, Bright Spots in Healthcare, and Healthcare Rounds; and now ghostwrite monthly editorials for a publishing spot she has in Forbes.
