Sophia Barkoff, Senior Associate, joined New Heights Communications after 3 years as a Broadcast Associate with CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” one of television’s longest running news programs. In this role, Sophia produced over 100 interviews with U.S. officials and international decision makers, with a particular emphasis on foreign affairs and humanitarian issues. Sophia also reported and wrote for CBS News Digital, where she covered the 2024 presidential campaign in her home state of Michigan. 

Previously, Sophia worked at the Center for Strategic International Studies, where she researched disinformation campaigns ahead of the 2020 midterm elections. She also interned with GirlForward, a nonprofit organization supporting teenage girls in Chicago’s refugee community, where she created public education materials to promote GirlForward’s mission. 

Sophia graduated with Global Honors from the University of Chicago, where she earned a Master’s degree in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Russian & East European Studies.
